Not Only That

A poem inspired by the orcs in "The Lord of the Rings", especially the movies. Have you noticed how disgusting they are??

~*~

You're evil,
Hungry,
Cannibal,
You're nasty,
Smelly,
Dirtified,
You're selfish,
Filthy,
Badly dressed,
You're sticky,
Messy,
Hands unwashed,
You're unkempt,
Unbound,
Incompetent,
You're heartless,
Ruthless,
Corrupted,
You're terrible,
Horrible,
And greasy-haired.
Not only that, you're ugly, too.

Professor Kirke

Narnia poem, book-based, freestyle. Spoilers for "The Magician's Nephew". This is one of my favorite poems that I've written. :c)

~*~

I open the door, and there they are:
Peter and Susan.
I am pleased I remembered their names.
I let them in, and they talk to me,
They tell me what is on their minds,
And inside I am a boy,
I am laughing and oh-so-pleased.
I give them logical advice,
And they leave, though worrying still.
I am concerned also,
Though my reasons are different.
So I watch, wait, listen.
And one day I open the door,
And there they are.
Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy.
I am pleased I remembered their names.
They raise their eyes and look at me,
And I know.
I look into their eyes, and I know.
I am a boy inside,
I am laughing and oh-so pleased.
I smile and say, "Come in."
They sit.
I sit.
I light my pipe and puff.
And I say,
"Tell me."

Another Day

This is a rhyming poem, unlike my usual freestlye tendency. Hope you like it.

~*~

Another Day

There you stand,
Braver than me,
Yet how I wish
You wouldn't be.

Please come to safety,
Come away,
Please live to fight
Another day.

Don't defend me,
Please, not now,
He's too big and
You're too small.

Please come to safety,
Come away,
Please live to fight
Another day.

Don't let the fire
Take you down.
Please don't go and
Leave me alone.

Please come to safety,
Come away,
Please live to fight
Another day.

A Haiku

The water flows beneath the sun
Sparkling in the light
Like diamonds and sapphires.

Lucy's Thoughts on Mr. Tumnus's House

I understand I write a lot of Narnia poems, but they seem to meld so well with poem style. I do write other genres, which will be coming along soon.

~*~

When I walked in the broken door
And saw your beautiful house ruined,
I was sad.
I missed the fire on the hearth,
Because I was cold.
I missed the homey orderliness,
Because outside plain snow stretched forever.
I missed the portrait of your father,
Because he reminded me of you.
But most of all, I missed you,
Just because.

Waiting For You

This poem is the first of twenty-one poems I wrote one productive day. :c)
Inspired by the end of the film "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe". Trying to put into words the meaning of the light through the wardrobe door and the lion's roar.

~*~

Waiting For You

It was real.
It was true.
We're real.
We're true.
We're waiting,
Waiting for you.
When you least expect us,
We'll be there.
Don't miss us;
You'll see us again.
Don't give up hope;
We're waiting,
Waiting for you.
Don't say goodbye,
Only fare-thee-well.
The Lion knows best,
And he knows
You will come again.
Don't miss;
Remember.
Don't hope;
Expect.
We're waiting,
Waiting for you.
